[SOLVED] device not found

[SOLVED] device not found

Postby brutus2675 » Fri Apr 08, 2016 6:04 am

Having successfully compiled the latest driver for my tbs-6280 yesterday, I fully expected everything to run smoothly.
I now find that kaffeine returns 'device not found' and mythtv says 'all tuners are busy'.
I re-ran make install to see again what the depmod line looked like and it looked OK

A susequent dmesg search revealed this:

[ 6.614306] saa716x_core: disagrees about version of symbol dvb_dmxdev_init
[ 6.614310] saa716x_core: Unknown symbol dvb_dmxdev_init (err -22)

What is my best bet now?

Hi brutus2675
Did you select correct script to your pc and did you remove all from kernel media before install new version?
This is a common problem if you didn't.

Kind regards.

I thought I had cleared the ¬/media folder and created the driver correctly as no errors were reported.
However, I removed all unwanted kernels and ran it all again although I did download an even fresher driver set before I started.
That worked but after while I again got 'device not found'.
I then remembered having vacuumed the box before installing the new operating system.
I removed the TBS-6280 and examined it before returning it to the box.
It has now behaved well for about 12 hours so I reckon that cracked it.
Thank you for your help.
