PCI-E 2.0, PCI-E 3.0?

PCI-E 2.0, PCI-E 3.0?

Postby garry » Wed Oct 15, 2014 6:50 pm

Hi,

Do you plan to support PCI-E 2.0 and 3.0 interfaces? if so, when approximately?
The problem is that new servers do not support PCI-E 1.0 so in new server platforms it is impossible to use your tuners...

They should... The PCI spec should always be backward compatible.

Only in theory, but not in practice. Here is my post about it and the solution - http://www.tbsdtv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=8046

The saa7160 used in many tbs cards only support pcie 1.0 so only option is to move to another interface ic.

Problem often in BIOS (initial device detection). But possible hardware solution like implemented in 6983 - pericom pci-e switch (pcie 2.0 compatibled) + saa7160 media-bridge.
