tuning timeouts while CAM plugged in

tuning timeouts while CAM plugged in

Postby grt » Fri Mar 13, 2015 4:32 am

Hi,

i have a TBS6618 and use it under linux via mythtv. But the issue i have is not related to mythtv because it occurs while scanning the cable to channels and mythtv is completly shut down.

When my CAM has NOT been plugged in i can do a "scan -t 1 /etc/channels.conf" and (after a while) i get the complete channels list (the same list as when i scan the channels via my tv-set).

But when i plug in my CAM (quickline smartcard with SMiT CAM, DVB number 5877) i get tuning timeouts and not even one channel (i also tried it for hours without any effect).

This is the dmesg while loading the TBS driver:
tbs6982fe: module license 'TurboSight Proprietary: http://www.tbsdtv.com' taints kernel.

That's the output while scanning without CAM:
[root@xxx ~]# scan -t 1 /etc/channels.conf
scanning /etc/channels.conf

as one can see i also get encrypted channels.....

When i plug in my CAM, i get the following dmesg:
tbsci: Adapter 0 CI slot enabled
dvb_ca adapter 0: DVB CAM detected and initialised successfully

and then while scanning for channels:
[root@xxx ~]# scan -t 1 /etc/channels.conf
scanning /etc/channels.conf
using '/dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0' and '/dev/dvb/adapter0/demux0'
initial transponder 530000000 6900000 0 5
>>> tune to: 530000000:INVERSION_AUTO:6900000:FEC_NONE:QAM_256
WARNING: filter timeout pid 0x0011
WARNING: filter timeout pid 0x0000
WARNING: filter timeout pid 0x0010
dumping lists (0 services)
Done.

When i unplug my CAM and scan, i'm getting the complete channels list as before.
I also tried booting having CAM plugged in, but this doesn't change anything.

So what i'm doing wrong? Is there a (linux-)setup available to get my CAM working and my encrypted PayTV-channels running on the TBS6618?

any help is appreciated.

Kind regards,
T
