Hi Thorium,

thank you for your confirmation! In the meantime I found the time to install the 5880 in a Linux VM. The Linux driver seems to have the same problem, dvbtraffic also shows 35Mbit overall data on the 15MBit Mux I receive:

Hi Joe69

Sorry that TBS5880 can not enable NULL packet filter.later we will release a new generation card TBS5881 which have the
NULL packet filter.

Kind Regards

Hi steven,
why not new firmware with null packet filter?
Btw. TBS5880 is the card with a new generation DVB terrestrial technology (T2), but unfortunately with old CI standard, not CI Plus. Why?
DVB-T2 pay services across Europe use CI+. Any chance for upgrading TBS5880 to CI+?

I agree that its odd the driver puts these extra null packets in there, but if your having a problem with bandwidth streaming the tp why not just not stream the null packets? Im guessing thats what your doing. Or even recording it maybe? just dont record that one packet. Kinda sucks you gota do it, but its an easy workaround.

Why not just not stream the null packets?

Because I want to know the REAL bandwidth of the transponder. I do not have a problem with streaming or recording the whole transponder, I just want to know the exact overall bandwidth and the partition of the streams. And that is one thing the 5880 can't deliver because it adds a whole lot of null packets which do not exist in reality.

It sucks this is how the driver currently works, its really weird.

The true data rate of actual data can still be calculated, as well at the real tp datarate using the sr, modulation, fec etc. A real hassle though.
