welcome to the forum members and thank you for opening up the TBS drivers.
As many before I have an issue of making a TBS card (in my case TBS 6928) in a combo with a 3rd party TV stick, namely HVR 930c.
The TBS Linux drivers compile wihtout problems and work on the solo basis. Howver, I have o support for HVR 930c in there , so need to either combine the latter in the TBS codebase or (preferred) have TBS6928 added to the open source tbs codebase.
I have replicated the open source code for TBS 6922 (saa716x_budget.c of https://github.com/tbsdtv/media_build.git), as the 6922 and 6928 cards apparently share the same HW (CI put aside) - the code (obviously) compiles and ko loads up, however I cannot get any signal lock using w_scan.
On the other side, I've integrated the saa716x directory of proprietary TBS linux drivers into the DVB codebase of my NAS (itself a backport to the 3.10 kernel) but dvb core cries about DVBv3 legacy incompatibility and there is no signal lock neither.

Long story short: what is needed to add TBS 6928 support to the open source codebase? I can compile the code and test the device.

The related issue has been logged at https://github.com/tbsdtv/linux_media/issues/130.
Let me know if the replication of 6922 is the right way to go and when can the support be expected so I'll keep trying or simpl wait for experts to add the support in no time ;o).

Unfortunatelly 6928 is not (yet) supported by opensource drivers ... latest official drivers are also quite outdated...latest supported kernel is 4.10 ( two years old kernel )...
