Just completed an upgrade to Ubuntu 18.04 which obviously stopped the VL4 drivers from working.

The old install script for Ubuntu 17.10 stopped working.

I have another manufactures USB DVB installed which has been find through the whole process.

Is there a new V4L build for the 4.15.0-23 kernal used by Ubuntu 18.04 ?

Do you have tested this pakage :
#wget http://www.tbsdtv.com/download/document/linux/media_build-2018-05-25.tar.bz2
# sudo rm -rf /lib/modules/`uname -r`/kernel/drivers/media/
#tar jxvf media_build-2018-05-25.tar.bz2
#cd media_build
#./install.sh
#reboot

is it ok ?
