Update driver for 6909 card on MOI Pro AMD

Hello, I have downloaded the latest tbs-linux-drivers_v151229.zip. How do I update the MOI Pro AMD to utilize them for the TBS6909 card?

I don't see a readme file for the 6909 card. When I went into the http control panel --> Options --> 'Install dvbt/s' , it came back saying "Success!" extremely fast. How can I check whether the latest driver is loaded.

Thank you! :)

I have since found and followed the instructions located here: https://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/ ... ce_drivers

I get all the way down to Step 8. (Check it loaded correctly), and I get the following errors:

the tbs 6909octo tuner card does not work dont waist your time

i bought a card with a moi pro when i got it had to update to latest version card would still not work contaced tbs they took control of my box via team viewer and said they got it to work but would not lock any muxes i could pick up signal on all tuners but failed to lock on all

after about a week was still no closer to a fix eventualy 2 weeks after i had bought the box and card witch was advertised as " fully compatable" they sent me a new zimage to build the firmware my self

i did this fine and now i can get a max of 4 tuners to lock but the other 4 dont even pick up a signal now :/ so i have went from having access to all 8 tunners and signal but no lock to having access to only 4 tunners and the other 4 dont even get a signal

sins this time i have emailed tbs over and over and over and they have not replied i am very angry at them and there customer service for selling me a £300 card that was supposed to be compatable but is obv not

its as if they didnt even do any testing on it

i now have moi pro and tbs6909 card all valued at £800+ and its usless and just sitting unused cant even get money back because seller says i have left it to long after purchace even tho i was waiting on tbs help :(

After five weeks in transit, I just received my TBS6909 the other day. I successfully installed the 15/12/29 drivers and, using TVheadend, have been able to play two separate transponders onto two separate TVs using the same coax input.

However the problem lies in that the tuner is not sensitive enough and does not return a signal (SNR). It is very hard to troubleshoot a problem when one can not receive a signal.

What eventually did was installed my TBS6922, which easily grabs a signal, beside the TBS6909 and set a channel up to minimize human error. I then transfer the coax to the TBS 6909 and the signal (SNR) drops from 69% to 2%.

I will do more tests with two other dishes to see if I can get this card to an acceptable state. If not I will have to send it back.

Hi guacharaca, can you tell me if you have same problem with DVB-S and DVB-S2 signals?

And can you try lasted drivers published in viewtopic.php?p=34746#p34746

Kind regards

I saw your message and was excited to see there was another driver to try. I installed it late last night but did not have much time to test it. However I can say there is some improvement.

I am using Ubuntu 14.04 and TVH 4.X

Both 12/29/15 and 01/16/16 drivers require that I set TVH to DVBS for DVBS signals and DVBS2 for DVBS2 signals. Setting to DVBS for a DVBS2 signal or DVBS2 for a DVBS signal only kills the signal.

As I am able to pre-scan the satellite with the Blindscan tool connected to a TBS6922 and then take a photo of the results that are on the screen, I rarely make mistakes regarding the details of a transponder.

What I did notice is that the "ku 10750" setting does not provide me a signal on the tbs6909. I have to set the lnb on TVH to "ku 10750 (high band)" to get a signal. With the TBS6922, both "ku 10750" and "ku 10750 (high band)" provide good signals. The C-band setting provides a similar signal as the ku 10750 (high band) but for the C-band lnb.

I am starting to believe the problem is with the driver as opposed to the card. The SNR is still way too low (1% or 2%) while on the TBS6922 and the TBS6980 give a SNR between 60% and 70% for the same lnb device. The tbs6909 card draws a lot of computer resources. I have an Intel I7 and it is important to turn off all scans that running in the background as it interrupts the processing of the signal.

I will add more inputs to the card tonight to learn more and inform you of the results.

Thanks

Update:

I installed two more dishes and found that this third type of Japanese made single polarity ku LNB will only work with the Ku 10750 (Hi-Band, Inverted-Polar.) setting. The v160116 driver was working properly but everything was too slow. I decided to updated the whole system which forced me to re-install the drivers. I started with the v151229 drivers and still the same problem as before. I then re-installed the v160116 drivers and the system was no longer slow. The update or the re-install of the v160116 driver fixed the "too slow" problem.

I feel a lot better about my purchase now as the card is living up to my expectations.

The only remaining small cosmetic problem that I have noticed is that the SNR signal bar only shows 1% or 2% on the TBS6909 (while it shows 65% on the tbs6922) which does not affect the actual performance of the system.

Thank you for the v160116 update.

PS: I am presently using HTS Tvheadend 4.1-1363

It will not fix some problem ...

TBS Linux Driver is updated to v160126, which has below updating:
* fix MMI not stable with CI slots on 6910
* improve MAC address support for all boards currently in production
* add MAC address support for TBS 5990
* add support for upcoming TBS6290SE
* improve TBS 6909 driver
* some other small fixes

---- Improve 6909 driver ?

Is 6909 is sensible too for IRQ poll bug and must use MSI mode ?

Anyway seems they are compiled again with DVB api 5.03 ....
