TBS driver broke V4L

Postby Newtman » Tue Jul 05, 2016 8:14 am

Hello,
I'm using the driver V160630 for my TBS6922SE and TBS6221 and work OK but I have got too an ISDB-Tb dongle model s870. It work and is detected as ISDB-Tb tuner with latest V4L but if I install TBS drivers my PC detect it as DVB-T dongle!
Is possible solve this?
Thanks.

Hello Newtman,

This was a long issue with TBS tuners, they use an old branch of all the media driver tree. Installing TBS driver roll back linux hardware support to an old situation.
In your case ISDB-Tb tuner not supported. One option was to take the source of the unsupported hardware and to port it in TBS driver tree itself.
That is not convient for sure.

But, you (we) are maybe lucky
Seems a new move is on its way
Good News,Open source code for TBS Card has been released
I did not tried it yet however and don't know what are exactly the features supported.
Let try and see.
