Hi,

i want update my MOI Box Firmware from the Version 1.0 to Firmware_V2.0.2

2. from V1.x to V2.0.2
1) Connect RS232 serial cable & install software.
Connect one end of the RS232 cable to MOI, the other end to your PC, install the software:
- for Windows users: TTERMPRO
- for Linux users: minicom
2) Update through micro SD card*
Prepare a formatted micro SD card, copy the file “MOI290-fs.bin” into it, insert it into the SD card slot on MOI, power on MOI, "Enter" uboot quickly (within about 3 seconds after MOI is powered on) and input the command lines:
setenv loadmmcfs 'fatload mmc 0:1 40000000 MOI2900_fs.bin'
setenv updatekfs 'nand erase 50c0000;nand write.yaffs 40000000 50c0000 ${filesize}'
save
then input "re", MOI will start to update.

I want Update through micro SD card, bu I doesn't understand this Part:

"Enter" uboot quickly

Steven,

Do you have such a cable? Or are there maybe several versions of the MOI?

Mine does not have a standard serial connector, but a 4-pin outlet that looks like the power socket of a floppy disk. I have been unable to either find (links to) the correct cable/convertor, the type of socket on the MOI or the labels for the four pins.

I hope you can help out, reading the forums there must be scores of people who actually are able to hook up their MOI to a serial port, but I have the faintest idea how the make it.

Best regards!

Bump. I also have the weird molex-style connector labeled RS-232. You can see it in the pictures of the MOI on the TBS website. I cannot figure out the exact identity of this connector nor the pinout. Does everyone who successfully uses the serial have a DB9 connector on their MOI instead? What about the rest of us? :?
