Artefects and pixelation on HD channels (Solved)

Artefects and pixelation on HD channels (Solved)

Postby modk » Sat Aug 04, 2012 2:36 pm

Hi,

Does anyone know how to fix this problem I am having where certain HD channels are just pixelating and evetually crash my TV player. Ive tried many different codec combinations, and ive tried DVBDream and ALTDVB and its the same in both.

But it only seems to happen on some of the weaker HD channels, on BBC HD and Sky news HD its smooth. Ive tried the same channels on my AZBOX and they show smooth on there!

Update : I am also getting this on SD channels. Seems to be DVB-S2 channels were signal is not "perfect". But these same channels work fine on my Azbox (and I've tried swapping the cables over)

I can give so more information now.

I have tried the same channel with both TBS6925 and the TT-3200 and I have recorded the TS file from DVBDream.

This is Olympics HD feed. Boxing Fight on TT3200

Same channel, 10 minutes later after I swapped the cards (you can see by time index in the file name) using same cable. The boxing fights just finished and interviewing the winner.

I have resolved this issue direct with Support via email. It seems I have a defective tuner and have arranged for a replacement.

Thanks

OK, this problem has started again now with the replacement card. Its even worse now.

All S2 frequencies are not even detected by the TBS6925 card whatsoever (the previous problem is that I could find them and tune the channels in but they all broke up with artefacts and pixels).

Now even when I do a blindscan it just ignores s2 frequencies and just finds the S1 frequencies and when you try to lock the S2 frequencies manually, it just doesnt find them.

This is the 2nd time this has happened and Ive only had this new card 3 weeks and it appears to have developed a very similar problem again with the S2 tuner and this card is advertised as "High Reliability" ?

Im very dissapointed with this. Im not sure I even sure want to go through another RMA process for a replacement card which will only last a couple of weeks.

Ok I can give a small update now. The TBS card seems to have "come back to life" on its own after not detecting anything other than S1 for the last couple of hours.

I'll monitor it over the comign hours/days and update thread. Hopefully it was just a blip and not a sign of it on its way out :(
