New TVHeadend version: 4.0.9

Postby costan » Wed Aug 17, 2016 10:52 pm

Hello,

the last TVH version.

I did not have the chance to test it on my box, ATM I don't have it available.

NEW VERSION: 4.0.9

Instruction almost the same as the other thread viewtopic.php?f=164&t=9352 (just replace -new with -4.0.9).

Pointer:

http://www.costan.org/moiplus/README-4.0.9.txt

Indeed I had no chance to test it, so use at YOUR OWN RISK.

Let me know if it works, anyway :)

4.1 is the unstable tree.

The version whose minor is odd are unstable, even for stable.

We're eager to test the 4.2 when they release... H.265 should be there.. welcome UHD. Hope the little MOI+ can handle it.

Is up and running, will see how it work.

Now just need to figure out how to CI working on TBS 6290 DVB-T.
I thought 4.x will support it without OSCAM.

Thanks for this version, MOI+ is out of box

Currently i have funny problem. After some hours just TVHeadend won't stream, before i reboot MOI.

Only difference in TVHeadend log is:
-- working log
subscription: subscribing on channel ...
linuxdvb: TurboSight TBS 6290 DVBT/T2 frontend : DVB-T #0
-------
Not working case it just stucks subscription: subscribing on channel ...

Seems like TV adapter not chosen ...

Is there any chance that you can compile 4.1.2190 or newer ?

The only issue I had with 4.0.8 was that for encrypted channels, when reception is poor, is causing TVH restart.

For a quick troubleshoot, try to enable debug on TVH, it should show something more.

Also, when stuck, try to restart TVH (not the entire box) and see if it's a TVH issue or an HW one. In the former case it will work, in the latter it will not.

I never tried with the 4.1 branch, it's unstable.

If I get some time, I'll try, but I think more rework on the code is needed. For 4.0 branch is just a configure and makefile fix, not a single code change. I'm not sure 4.1 will be so easy.

Reception quality shows 100% in TVHeadend.

>The only issue I had with 4.0.8 was that for encrypted channels, when reception is poor, is causing TVH restart.
Currently i can't get encrypted channels to work.
Did you use OSCAM ? I'm currently stuggling to get DVB-T card internal CI to work.
I suspect that since 4.1 there is CI support in TVHeadend. For 4.0.x i don't see CI option in TV card settings(in videos i have seen CI checkbox, but agian this for DVB-S settings and don't know since what release).
With OCAM if i get right, hw CI not supported, so i need external card reader.

>Also, when stuck, try to restart TVH
Dummy question, but how. In web UI can't see resart and in linux SSH i'm tottaly dumb ...

I'll give a try to 4.1 tree. Anyway I'm not sure CI will work on 4.1. Can you try using the card in a PC with linux (Ubuntu, for istance) and see if it works with the 4.1 there?

OSCAM can do the CI job, but you will not need the CAM module, and put the subscriber card in a card reader attached to the box with oscam (MOI should be able to use it, expecially if you use a TBS reader).

For restart, it seems you're able to see the WebUI, try to go to the Status tab and check what's happening first. You can also enable debug from the configuration tab (the last subtab).

For restarting just TVH, enter by ssh (username root, password tbs) and perform a restart by issuing:

ps -ef | grep tvh
(note the PID of tvh)
kill <PID>

then restart using

/usr/local/bin/tvheadend -C
