TBS 6903 tested by DXer

Yes, HWControl=0 :) But what about the problems? :P
I can catch some logs from eg. debug drivers if TBS will send any, spend any amount of time needed to catch and fix this, just anything...

Problem in HW, maybe unstable oscillator for clocking tuner/demod. I have 6983 first revision (shielded tuner IC), 5927 and 6908 (look like with some HW problems for one tuner IC, just not work AGC control). 6983 and 5927 work ok, same behavior.

Software control for all STV0910-based devices 100% same in my StreamReaderEx-BDA and open-source linux driver. All described "problems" related to 6903/5/8 HW bugs. I think BAD EXPERIENCE reduce total cost (remove shield, mini oscilators and etc) for "elite" products :)

In the same way at two cards? :?

Did You tried to lock with 6908 some MCPC transmission with 1 MHz search range after stepping out few MHz from center frequency? At 6983 - fast & flawless, at 6903 - nope, nope, nope :(

Despite that for example in AltDVB lock after step out few MHz from center frequency still possible, but blindscanning in the same way is failing (for me at two cards).

I not test many 6908, because one tuner IC path with critical HW problems, AGC just not work. I receive 6983 and 6908 samples two ears ago - 6983 is 100% ok (always in my home PC) and 6908 sometimes in my old test PC :) 5927 now good "friend" for my tablet Pipo W3F :)

This related to unstable oscillator.

My heart is breaking :( 6983 is not available anymore. As I understand - 6903 - no chances for any improvements. That. Is. Tragedy. :P
(Thus 6903 still has no direct competitor in price/possibilities, so well - still the best anyhow :P )

Anyhow still weird - TBS BlindScan (despite its buggy nature) somehow is able to get for example DVB-S with FEC 1/2 and 2/3 - why BLScan2 as wrapper skipping these transmissions? Result shouldn't be the same?

@steven - halp! :)

Do you have the new version of 6903 with metal cover on chipset and changed motherboard like bellow ?

No, I got V11 without metal cover. At photo I see V12 with metal cover. Interesting observation - thanks :)
6925 had metal cover, 6983 had metal cover, 6903 V12 got metal cover. It's worth to try put some at V11...

There are more differences on 6903 motherboard between V11 and V12, not only metal cover.

I'm pretty sure 'bout that, but metal cover is the only change which I can do on my own ;) It's worth to try, maybe in next week I'll try to create some metal cover and retry all my tests ;)
