It's important to keep your driver and software updated.

Drivers build but are not installed in Fedora29 (Kernel 5.0)

Postby mollcons » Sun Mar 31, 2019 9:30 pm

I am running Fedora29 now with a recently installed kernel (5.0.4-200) and had successfully installed and run my MythTV application under kernel 4.2.15-200.

I am using the installation method descibed in https://github.com/tbsdtv/linux_media/wiki and testing the install with the commands in https://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/ ... stallation. In the latter, the first command run after reboot dmesg | grep -i saa716 responded with nothing, meaning that the installation of the drivers had clearly NOT worked.

How do I resolve this issue? Do your installation instructions need updating (I guess if they do, it will be because of the new kernel).

I have setup both on my Linux PC. However, this PC does not currently have sound available, and also, it does NOT have a camera available. For Skype to work properly I will have to use my Windows10 Laptop which has all features.

I have just noticed that Teamviewer will NOT work because it does NOT support Wayland which is the default provided by Fedora 29.
