6909 on multiswitch with DVBViewer on Windows 7

Postby rod » Sat Mar 02, 2019 5:28 am

First of all, greetings to everyone on this useful forum.

I have three quattro LNBs (28.2E, 19.2E, 13.0E) routed through an EMP-Centauri Profi-class MS13/20 PIU multiswitch into DVBViewer running on Windows7 Ultimate. I am currently using a 6984 as my main tuner alongside a 6928 for encrypted channels and a 6280 for terrestrial services. The 6984 is showing early signs of failing, and I am having to plan for a replacement. I would like to get a 6909 in its place, but I'm uncertain as to whether it will work downstream of the EMP multiswitch using the Windows driver (which doesn't seem to be particularly well documented).

I am very attached to DVBViewer, and have invested a lot into getting the system running smoothly. But this does mean that I am tied to Windows, so I'd prefer solutions that don't require me having to port everything to a Linux media server.

The EMP switch uses DisEqC 1.0 for switching LNBs.

Can anyone offer help or advice on getting the 6909 working in this setup?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply.

I suspect my question may not have been clear. The 6909 would not be connected to a quattro LNB, but would be installed downstream of an EMP MS13/20 multiswitch. Each of the 20 outputs of the multiswitch appears to a satellite tuner like a feed from a universal LNB (i.e. not split into VL, VH, HL, HH). If the 6909 is also running in multiswitch mode, this setup would effectively look like 2 mutliswitches in cascade. I'm trying to find out if this would work with these components.

Thanks again.

Hi

For your EMP MS13/20 multiswitch how many satellite input ? if you only use one satellite then you just need put the EMP MS13/20 multiswitch output direct to
6909 .

if you use more than one satellite and need to choose the satellite you can use the normal mode 1 input for two tuners you can use this driver :
TBS6909_Mode_1_release_V1001_20170914.zip
normal mode 1

I use 3 satellites: 28.2E on DiseqC A, 19.2E on DiseqC B and 13.0E on DiseqC C. Will this work with the V1001 Mode 1 driver?
