TBS 5990 - Ubuntu 17.10

Just completed an upgrade to Ubuntu 17.10 which obviously stopped the VL4 drivers from working.

I rebuilt from the media_build-0519 drivers .. Didnt compile and install.
I then downloaded from the tbs-linux-drivers_v170330 drivers .. followed the instructions in the read me but still have no drivers loaded.

I have another manufactures USB DVB installed which has been find through the whole process.

Is there a new V4L build for the 4.13.0-16 kernal used by Ubuntu 17.10 ?

You can have a try with our latest open source driver :

of this open source offline pakcage :

# sudo rm -rf /lib/modules/`uname -r`/kernel/drivers/media/
#tar jxvf media_build-2017-1016.tar.bz2
#cd media_build
#./install.sh
#reboot

I got an 6618 card that is not supported by the open source driver...

I'm also on ubuntu 17.10 and I get errors compiling the lastest driver from the homepage:

I would like to add with the wish for support TBS6618 at open source driver too. (when it will be able.. I hope)
On Fedora26/27 is new kernel every month ... shortly - often...
