DVB-S2 BBC switchover

DVB-S2 BBC switchover

Postby aquagraphite » Thu Jun 09, 2011 4:11 pm

I've just hit the new switchover of the BBC HD channels and was wondering if im experiencing a tuner or 7mc problem. Im also wondering if my LNB is actually DVB-S2 compatible...

I'm running the latest 6981 drivers (2.0.0.18 i think) but get a 'no signal' error in 7mc when trying to watch the channels.

I've done a full transponder scan to no avail.

Thanks in advance

Mark.

I just setup DVB-S2 on 7mc, the full scan didn't find the new channels, and so I had to do an additional single transponder scan using the following settings:-

Carrier Frequency 10847 MHz
Symbol Rate 23000 kSymbols/s
Polarization Vertical

Try the scan again, and try checking your channel list to see if the channels are there.

As if by magic all seems to work! Seem to be getting a bit of blocking during the broadcast but I cant as yet pin point what is the culprit.

I have just updated my old pinnacle sat card with a new 6981 card to enable viewing of the new BBC HD S2 format. Although I can receive the channels ok I'm getting quite a lot of blocking (pixelation) on the S2 channels format :(
I can receive ITV HD perfectly but this channel is still transmitting S1 format. My signal strength is 80 and quality is 96% and I'm using an oversize dish. Anyone else experiencing blocking on S2 format channels?

Well yes I think it is all ok - although I still cant pin down the blocking issue.

The Hauppage Tuners require a DVB-S2 patch for W7 MC to receive the BBC, ITV HD and C4 HD channels.
See http://www.hauppauge.co.uk/board/showthread.php?22320
Does this also apply to the TBS6981 tuner?
