I realize there is a new driver version v141019.
I have tested it with the same result (kernel 3.17.1-3.gd944251-desktop).
It doesn't scan well and the resulting video of dvbstream is corrupted.

I have the same problem in openSUSE 13.1 It doesn't tune and besides it has not scanned all the channels.
