Card not detected on Dell Poweredge T420 server

Hi to all,

I'm currently building up a DVB S2/T2 server, based on TurboSight cards :
- 1x TBS6285, which works just fine
- 1x TBS6985, which just won't work on this server.

I have a big feeling the issues come from the server itself, and especially from its power supply.
I've installed a fresh Ubuntu Server distribution, + a tiny script (provided by Dell) to obtain a clear list of PCI-E ports status.

This server has 6 PCI-E ports, and each of them won't reference the DVB-S card (the slot is shown as empty, in both BIOS & OS)
I've bought a 2x SATA -> PCI-E 6-pin connector to provide external power supply, but... still no luck.

However, this server has a huge SAS controller which may consume too much power, but I don't have any readings, so I can't be sure right now (I'm in the process of contacting Dell support right now to have some deeper understanding)
On a regular server / desktop machine, the card works perfectly, without external power supply.

Any similar experience here, or any ideas/hints ?
It seems I'll have to send back this server to get another one without the SAS controller, and regular SATA interfaces ...

After some further investigations, I think we can relate our issue to this one :

Since we also own a TBS6984 DVB-S2 card, I've tried to integrate this card in our T420 server, same issue...
It seems Dell BIOS is guilty here, but unfortunately, their support team hasn't provided me any hints yet.

Of course, they'll charge TurboSight to produce non-standard PCI-e cards, but it's the other way around.
