Re: Occasional Lockups - no lock

Yes, mine has the same issues.

It locks up occasionally, when used with Fedora 14 x86-64. Haven't found a cure yet, apart from unplugging and plugging it back in. Can't test on windoze, never touch the stuff ...

Re: QboxII whis Dreambox Kernel 2.6.18 posible?

As I only see binary drivers (x86/amd_64) and no sources in all TBS driver packages available for download ... You may want to checkout the linux-tbs-drivers_110818.rar package, available from the downloads page. It holds the code to build the drivers for linux, DVB-API version 5.0 and higher. To b...

Re: Installing on Slackware64

Hi lloydsmart, I have built my modules (for a TBS5980) for both x86_64 and ARM. When I mix them up, I get the same error messages, so maybe something's wrong with architecture detection in your distro? Could you test the following (in v4l subdir): file dvb-core.ko It should render something like: $ ...

Re: install drivers without overwriting kernels dvb tree

Hi feadog, It's a lot harder than I thought it would be. So far I have copied the required module code into a separate kernel tree, and compiled the modules there. That seems to be OK. What happens if you switch off everything but the kernel modules you really need for your device (make menuconfig a...

Re: QboxII whis Dreambox Kernel 2.6.18 posible?

Hi all, Yesterday I successfully compiled the kernel modules for a tbs5980 (QBox CI) for kernel 2.6.18 (for ARM architecture, i.e., my TV to be more specific). Will try the QboxII later today. If you're interested, send me a PM and I'll try and upload the code somewhere (It's a full fledged linux ke...

Re: Can anyoone provide list of CAMs working on linux?

I don't think asking the same question over and over again will speed up this community, to be honest.

But:

astoncrypt v 1.07 doesn't work either.

Re: linux drivers?

Hi elson,

did you check the chipset and usb ID used in this device?
to be found in dmesg output?

Maybe there's support for the chipset at linuxtv.org, and can the device be made to work with other drivers and a little tinkering.

Re: install drivers without overwriting kernels dvb tree

I'll try and have a go on my fedora box. (will take a few days, as I'm off to Paris this afternoon)
The drivers install without problems on my machine, will try the manual bits more extensively.

What are the module names of your staging drivers?

Re: install drivers without overwriting kernels dvb tree

Hi Noel, possibly it has been fixed already, but here's how I do it: enter the top-level build directory for the drivers. make menuconfig <remove all drivers and other stuff you don't need> cd to v4l and edit the Makefile: comment the line EXTRA_CFLAGS += -g <debugging directives enabled, makes the ...

Re: Supported CI modules?

Beste Wim, Dear Wim, I just rebuilt the drivers from the newest source. Had to patch linux/fs.h for that, hmmm.... (Fedora 14, kernel 2.6.35.13-91.fc14.x86_64) Anyway, still no luck. The astoncrypt does not work. As soon as I insert the module into the Qbox, transmission of FTA channels stops. I don...
