Re: BSOD with 8922

OK, I'll switch cards (I have another slot used by a DVB-T card) over the weekend and have a go.

Re: BSOD with 8922

Unfortunately I haven't noticed any triggering event - most of the times when the BSOD happens the HTPC is simply on; sometimes it is recording; sometimes I am watching a video. And no I only have one HTPC, sorry.

Re: BSOD with 8922

Hi Steven. The 8921 had BSOD problems before I removed it from my system; I substituted it with the 8922 and now I have problems with that one too. I didn't have any such problem with my previous DVB-S card (Compro VideoMate S350). Do you want me to uninstall with 8922? I'd be left without satellite...

BSOD with 8922

I'm having the same BSOD problems with the 8922 that I used to have with the 8921 - at least once a week the HTPC freezes and the BSOD comes up, no apparent reason. I took a look at the reports and in all of them the Bug Check String is "BAD_POOL_CALLER" and among the drivers found in the ...

Re: TBS8921 - No TV Signal in WMC

Final update on this topic - I got in touch with Triax and they confirm that their TMP 9x16 multiswitch might well be set-up in such a way that it immediately defaults to Sat 1 when there is no DiSEqC command (this is to accomodate UK Sky boxes, which don't handle DiSEqC) and switches to Sat 2 with ...

Re: About BSOD

Hi Steven, I've also been experiencing several BSODs with Win 7 32bit while using W7MC + TV Source. I took a look at the reports and in all of them the Bug Check String is "BAD_POOL_CALLER" and among the drivers found in the stack I always see tbs8921.sys (the others being halmacpi.dll, ks...

Re: TBS8921 - No TV Signal in WMC

Thanks Steven, I had tried that but it didn't work. But it turns out that my problem might be with the way the switch in my apartment building interacts with the card. The set-up is with two Quattro LNBs feeding a 9x16 TMP switch (I finally got access to the closet where the switch is located). For ...

Re: TBS8921 - No TV Signal in WMC

Hi Steven, Unfortunately I don't have access to the DiSEqC switch, I live in an apartment building and all I can see is the satellite cable coming out of the wall. I contacted the company who installed the system and they said that Astra 2 is on LNB1 and Hotbird on LNB2. I ended up not using the raw...

Re: TBS8921 - No TV Signal in WMC

Well, I spoke too quickly - my raw commands above weren't actually selected for the DiSEqC communication. So, after some more digging, it turns out that for some reason DVBLogic's TVSource successfully scans channels when I select the DiSEqC option "None" for Astra 2 and "Pos A/Osc B&...

Re: TBS8921 - No TV Signal in WMC

Steven, I might have identified the problem - I believe it is the DiSEqC communication between the TBS 8921 card and my DiSEqC switch. I ended up entering the raw DiSEqC command E0 10 39 F0 W0100 E0 10 39 F0 (i.e. the command to switch to LNB1 repeated twice, with a 100ms wait in the middle) in DVBL...
