TBS drivers cause kernel oops.

Hey all,

I have a TBS 5922 [non-SE] and there seems to be a problem with the latest TBS drivers whenever I plug my em28xx DVB-T2 stick into the machine I get the following kernel oops:- http://sprunge.us/Gfig this also occurs on 3.13.7.

I'm running debian wheezy.

Any ideas?

TBS drivers fail to build with latest vanilla kernel (3.7.1)

Hi all, I'm trying to get the TBS 5922 working on my system using the latest vanilla kernel and tbs drivers v121119. The drivers refuse to build unless I disable v4l support (using menuconfig) in which case they then build successfully but then I get an version mismatch error in dmesg and some of my...

[Info] modprobe force_pid_filter_usage may cause issues

Hey all. I have multiple DVB-T dongles (None TBS) and the 5922 connected to my microserver, I was having reception issues on one of my DVB-T dongles and in an attempt to fix it I'd enabled the force_pid_filter_usage in my modprobe config, which sadly made no difference but anyway... With force_pid_f...

Re: [Solved] TBS5922 ~ Weird occurrences

Just thought I'd post an update to this thread. Everything is still running fine, no heat issues, nor any tuning issues, I did notice something strange though, before the last kernel update (3.0.0.17-server) channel switching would be extremely slow 6-10 seconds, and the only fix was to change the t...

Re: TBS5922 ~ Weird occurrences & observations

Aha! Good news! Since I've re-built the drivers and updated TVheadend to the latest git version, everything seems to be running fine (touch wood) on my N36L, not tried it on my N40L though, don't think I'll bother it's running fine. :D Not sure what the problem was but it seems to be running a lot c...

Re: TBS5922 ~ Weird occurrences & observations

Hi Cody, I'll try to give as much info as I can, I apologise if I'm repeating anything, I'm just trying to make sure I've explained things without causing confusion. I really want to help TBS fix these little bugs. I have two HP Proliant micro servers. The N36L is running Ubuntu Server 11.10 (linux-...

[Solved] TBS5922 ~ Weird occurrences

Hey all. I'm not quite sure why this is happening but it is rather weird and I'll try to explain the best I can, First some info. I received a TBS5922 as a replacement for a QBOXS2 that was overheating (thanks to support for sorting that out for me!), anyway, I'm currently using the 5922 connected t...

[Fixed] Latest Ubuntu Kernel dvb_usb_device_init (err -22)

Hi, I've just updated my microserver to the latest server kernel 3.0.0-13-server (64Bit), I've re-built the kernel drivers for my QBOXS2 which build no problem but the driver complains (when inserting the USB cable):- [10090.487336] dvb_usb_tbsqboxs2: disagrees about version of symbol dvb_usb_device...

WARNING: QBox II power brick not earthed! It's bloody hell!

Hi all. Overall I've been happy with the QBox until I plugged the the device's USB connector into my PC's USB which is next to the Ethernet port. It would seem that the power brick isn't earthed and is using the Ethernet port to earth itself, causing the Ethernet connector, VDSL modem and router to ...
