Re: Problem reacquiring lock

Thank you Sergio, I'll try to test with other sw - I haven't done it so far due to the "logistics" of it (I can't do it on the "PC" where the TBS8921 is installed, it's a stripped down no-gui, no display, debian on a 1GB flashdisk). I had the hopes there was just something missin...

[SOLVED] Problem reacquiring lock

Hi, I'm using a TBS8921 on a dish pointing system (no TV watching, just measuring level and snr). The board is installed on a mini-ITX x86 board running linux debian 6.0 (squeeze), 2.6.32-5 kernel. I have compiled and installed the linux-tbs-drivers from tbs-linux-drivers_v120424.zip. Although I don...

[SOLVED] Re: Linux modules manual loading

Ok, so I assumed cx88-dvb was the module to load, but maybe it isn't (the cx88-dvb.ko is not built with the tbs drivers; the one I have came with my kernel image .deb). I tried then cx88-dvb-core, which gave me a different error (but did not "disagrees" about versions). FATAL: Error insert...

Re: Linux modules manual loading

I also tried copying
linux-tbs-drivers/v4l/Module.symvers
to
/lib/modules/2.6.32-5-686/build/Module.symvers
as they were different even after "make install"

[SOLVED] Linux modules manual loading

Hello, I'm trying to use a TBS8921 receiver for the automatic peak search feature of a dish pointer system (all I need are measurements for rssi when not locked and rssi + quality when locked; no actual video receiving). The board is installed on a mini-ITX x86 board running linux debian 6.0 (squeez...

Re: DVB-S/S2 Card for a linux-based dish pointer

That's great news, and the timing could not be better. I'll keep an eye on the TBS website!

Thank you again!

Re: DVB-S/S2 Card for a linux-based dish pointer

It seems the TBS-8921 is not available yet. Is there a forecast for its release?

A TBS-8920 + right angle PCI riser would do, but if it's going to be replaced by the 8921 soon, we could wait.

Thanks again,

Re: DVB-S/S2 Card for a linux-based dish pointer

Thank you for your responses! I'll have to use PCI then - the the mini-itx board I intended to use which has mini-PCIe is currently unavailable from the mfg, so I turned to one with PCI only. We'll puchase a TBS-8921 for the prototype (it looks like the 8920 is taller, and I only have 2 rack units ~...

DVB-S/S2 Card for a linux-based dish pointer

Hello TBS guys, We're developing an automatic satellite dish pointer controller (for Satellite News Gathering vehicles and other applications), and it will be based on a mini-itx Atom motherboard running debian. I'm looking for options for measuring the received signal strength and quality for the a...
