Re: About SAT>IP discuss

No, SAT>IP couldn't be more different from tvheadend's HTSP protocol. I've briefly read that specificication, and all it seems to do is to provide remote access to DVB tuners. i.e. it is extremely low-level, meaning all channel scanning, configuration etc needs to be done on every client (if I under...

Re: Cross Compiler for MOI

I haven't any problem with mount, I'm not sure, what you mean with "wasn't mounted on boot". Try: create diectory in original rootfs, copy fw file and reboot. The problem I had was that if my DVB-T stick was inserted in the MOI when the MOI booted, then the firmware file was not found. If...

Re: DVB T/T2 USB stick drivers?

If the DVB-T stick is supported by kernel 2.6.35 (the version used by TBS), then you could build your own kernel (using the kernel sources provided by TBS) to include the driver.

I've done this with my Hauppauge WinTV Duet dual DVB-T tuner (which uses the dib0700 driver), and it works fine.

Re: Mount a remote folder

It's on a windows machine (Samba). Then I think you're probably out of luck. The kernel provided by TBS doesn't include Samba support, so you won't be able to mount Samba shares. Unless you can do it yourself, you only really have two options - hope that TBS add Samba support in future releases of ...

Re: Cross Compiler for MOI

Hi gfi, Would you be willing to share your buildroot config? I've successfully used it to build a newer tvheadend, but would like to be able to build the complete filesystem. I've been playing with building my own kernel, and that's working quite well now - I've added the driver for my DVB-T stick (...

Re: Mount a remote folder

You can't do it directly in tvheadend - you need to do it outside.

Is your network folder on a Linux or Windows (or OS X) PC ? i.e. is it NFS or Samba?

Re: MPEG 2 HD vs. MPEG 4 HD

Are these encrypted services? I've found that with software descrambling, the MOI can cope with lower bitrate HD channels (perhaps up to about 10-15MBits/s), but for higher bitrates the CPU can't cope. I've looked briefly at trying to optimise tvheadend's descrambling, but without any useful results...
