Re: TBSViewer doesn't find QBox II [RESOLVED] or position di

Just a note to add that I purchased DVBViewer Pro after some investigation through their forum and it works well with the motor. The demo version of TransEdit (their separate scanner) that they provide for testing hardware has no positioner capability, and the latest versions also needed a patch for...

Re: TBSViewer doesn't find QBox II [RESOLVED] or position di

OK, the Technotrend dll was the only extra file in the package. The BDA driver must be part of the main program. The web-site does claim compatibility with an impressive list of hardware.

Re: TBSViewer doesn't find QBox II [RESOLVED] or position di

I have not yet obtained acceptable picture quality from AltDVB. What codecs do you use? To add to the list of apps I've tried, the latest SichboPVR is worth special mention. It has a very different GUI for settings. Satellite selection and scanning are a pleasure to use, plus I've not had a single c...

Re: QBOX-S2 picture quality problems

I have the same set-up with an extra 1GB of RAM. I had problems with WMC, especially with HD channels, but what appeared to be video problems were actually audio-related. HD channels wouldn't play at all - this was related to Dolby Digital sound (AC-3), which I disabled in the WMC TV-Audio settings ...

Re: QBox S2 Signal Level Reporting

I have found the receiver will not lock to any signal with quality below 30%. I don't recall seeing any signal over 94%.

Signal level is always 98% while the LNB is connected, even pointing at empty space. My other receiver reports 99%.

Re: TBSViewer doesn't find QBox II or position dish

I can report that MediaPortal is a no-go for motor positioning. Besides failure to move the dish, it has an unusual UI that lacks a direct "Goto n", forcing the user to store position numbers in the order the satellites are added and making it difficult to use with existing applications/re...

Re: TBSViewer doesn't position dish (but other apps will)

Yes. I already had to learn how to use GraphEdit just to get AltDVB to work, as I didn't have any of the codecs in its out-of-date list. I struggled at first as it wouldn't let me read any existing graph files, not having the relevant codecs. Why can't it just work off-line and give a warning? I fin...

Re: TBS6921 problems

The multiswitch should surely just look like a single LNB to each tuner attached to one of the Rx ports. There's no switching involved other than normal selection of one of the four band/polarisation modes fed from a quattro LNB.

Re: TBSViewer doesn't position dish

Thanks for that info - I'm sure it will help anyone else looking for a solution. Media Portal looked promising until I read in a support forum that it could only support DISEqC switching and there were no plans to implement positioning. [I've since read in their documentation that it supports DiSeQC...

Re: TBSViewer doesn't find QBox II or position dish

The latest version does find the Q-Box II, and plays well enough except for certain HD channels with AC3 audio, but a filter upgrade cured that (for WMC as well). I'm quite liking the TBS Viewer software for viewing, but am still struggling to operate the DiSEqC motor. I can see parameters in Channe...
