signal problem ..

Postby crsmoro » Thu Jun 17, 2010 8:45 am

hi, i just buy 8920 dvb-s2 but i have some problems ..
i tested it on, xp 32bits and seven x64 (my actual OS)
drivers: from cd, and download the last avaliable on the page
with the programs ..
blazeTv(wich come in cd with the product), dvbviewer, progdvb, dvbdream and altdvb ..
all of them present the same problem: some TPs they simply dont get signal..
i can get signal from 3 TPs, but others are simply ignored ... 0% signal .. i dont know whatelse todo ..
already do every combination of these programs/drivers/OSs ...
any ideias what can i do ?

and yes, already tried to put another device and all works fine, all TPs signals are working ...

hi, please, give some more details like:

- hardware version of your TBS8920 card, e.g.V11,V12, V20. you can find that information written on the card - for more details see the picture below:

- which frequencies? on which satellite? few examples are enough and also parameters like FEC and symbol rate with which you are trying to get lock on those frequencies.

thank you,

if all problematic transponders have symbol rate of 29900 kSps? i want to use signal generator in our lab to investigate more.

when could you do that?

my hardware version would be a problem ? i mean, a comum problem for the V22 ?
a new driver could solve the problem ?
or i will have to get another 8920 without the problem ?

i know its a lot of questions, but im a really frustrated :(

i detected another problem in this 2 days of use ..
in the few TPs there i can get signal for scan the channels when im watching some time the signal disappear and stays for like 30seg~1min~2min (its really variable) and then come back ..

the others TPs are symbol rate of 29900kSps too...

another thing ..
i took my computer right next to the antenna with small coaxial cable and the problem still..
in other words, couldnt be weak signal/coaxial cable resultant of long/bad cable ...

well, as you can see i really dont know whatelse todo ... i really hoping its a driver bug or hardware problem, unfortunately :(

there is not any general problem with V22, but i'm asking just to collect more information, because no one else complained from similar problem. it could be then symbol rate related (if so we should be able to reproduce this in our lab and fix in software) or faulty board. where are you located, in case exchanging your board with another one is necessary?
