Driver for latest kernel in Ubuntu - Repository?

I packaged https://www.tbs-technology.de/driver/li ... 110717.rar in https://launchpad.net/~yavdr/+archive/main .

REMARK:
- Not tested as i dont have any hardware.
- Also for dkms the objekt files needed to be created/copied/linked in the makefile, atm only 64bit. Need to put something nicer in to recognize ARCH
- change this in a patch - or TBS adds it to their package

Anything else missing ?

thanks, i think it will make "yavdr" more friendly for TBS hardware owners

It will make TBS hardware more user friendly to yavdr and ubuntu users ... anyway

Hi Steffen,

the package works like a charm (on Ubuntu 11.04 64-bit).
Thanks for your efforts.
And yes, it would really make TBS hardware more user friendly if they provided their own package source.

Really interesting project Steffen, thanks!

If TBS drivers can be integrated as part of yaDVR, surely TBS can have their own driver package?

I packaged http://www.tbs-technology.de/driver/lin ... 111103.zip in https://launchpad.net/~yavdr/+archive/main for natty (should work for other releases as well, but precompiled modules is for 64bit 2.6.38-12 of natty)

Changes:
Managed to find a way to run tbs scripts as described in README from dkms.conf (On clean)
(find architecture with command arch, check of kernelversion i could rely on dkms).
Workaround implemented to make v4l-compat-32 not mandatory (only exist if not compiled for 32Bit).

So dkms should work now as is. To be confirmed for other kernel and ubuntu releases, natty 64Bit 2.6.38-12 has been tested. Oneiric package could be uploaded soon if there is an requirement.

REMARK:
- Not tested as i dont have any hardware.

Yeah. It would really nice if there was a PPA. I just realized I had a kernel upgrade and that is why I was no longer able to watch sat TV. If a PPA was maintained the drivers would be automatically upgraded after a kernel upgrade which would eliminate this "problem". make takes a lot of time to build the modules even on my new i5 board.
