IR used with LIRC?

Now i have issue with the remote reliability. Sometimes the remote stop responding (but i'm still able to use the keyboard)

i will check if i can reproduce this problem and try to find a fix.

Also sometimes the box hangs up completely following a remote key event, the computer stalls to a snails pace and I have to unplug the usb lead and power down the qbox to restore the system.

what's the chipset on your motherboard?

I experienced this kind of problem with a pci-e card of another manufacturer.

MB:
Zotac GeForce 9300 with Nvidia MCP7A

The IR Remote IS NOT working properly and makes the qbox crashing.
As a fix, as not been released I personally gave up using the IR receptor as well as the remote.
Is there a way to disable the IR Receptor? i.e. using my tv remote seems to interfere with the qbox ir and crashes the system as well.

I disabled rc polling of the dvd_usb module:

options dvb_usb disable_rc_polling=1
