Done. Run this two commands in SSH console and reboot. I was testing with remote from TBS5980 (I think). But not all keys are working - someone should record them.
Code: Select All Code
cp /storage/.config/autostart.sh /storage/.config/autostart.sh_orig
curl -o /storage/.config/autostart.sh https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8224157/public/matrix/tbs_matrix_openelec_tbs_remote.autostart

Done.

Seems to be OK when looking log with dmesg :

Code: Select All Code
[    5.776228] Registered IR keymap rc-rc6-mce
[    5.776596] input: gpio_ir_recv as /devices/soc0/ir-receiver.17/rc/rc0/input2

But remote still unusable :(

Helix is fine but Gotham has some issues. Already investigating.

Fixed. In all builds I forgot to use different settings addon for Gotham than it's used for Helix.

OpenELEC-iMX6.arm-devel-20141018132309-r19393-g4556014-Gotham-ui_fix.tar: http://l.bitcasa.com/KT3b4KFi

Thanks. Works fine.

What you get when running autostart manually:
Code: Select All Code
sh /storage/.config/autostart.sh
And does remote now works or still not?

I now have OpenELEC booting from emmc (internal flash), with no SD card installed - all achieved on a base Matrix v1.3 running MatrixTV, using only SD card and network connection, from a Linux host without use of any serial console or programming cable.

I have already documented the first two stages - installing the OE 'universal' boot and then creating a bootable OE SD card.

I will document the final step in a little while.

Is it possible to boot to OE when SD card is inserted and to MatrixTV from internal emmc when no SD card ?

To get a sort of dual boot so it's easier to test both release instead of installing one OS over another ?

Yes. You need new u-boot in eMMC and uEnv.txt file in eMMC for MatrixTV and uEnv.txt on SD card for OpenElec. If SD card is inserted OpenElec will boot. If no SD card present MatrixTV will boot.

It would be even possible to have different systems on one SD card.

For SD card someone (I ?) could make disk image which can be written directly without manual partition, formating, copying, ...

Sorry, it's not clear for me.

If I flash MatrixTV 1.0.1.0 in emmc then u-boot and uEnv.txt are OK, right ?

So I just have to install OE on SD card so uEnv.txt will also be OK, right ?

As my Matrix box already run MatrixTV 1.0.1.0, I just have to follow OE on SD card tuto from PeterB to get dual boot.
