I say that for certain development boards to identical hardware, have much more support in a variety of operating systems and optimization. And there is only the matrix tv to download 2 versions of ubuntu that have many bugs and a version of android that has no 3d acceleration support.

The matrix is a very good tv with great hardware platform, but the manufacturer would have to update the versions of ubuntu with good support for 2D and 3D with support for OpenGL

Don't forget OpenELEC distro ;)

Anyway, you do know most of the work done for other more supported systems is done by ordinary users? If you want to use matrix for all purpose system you can/should done yourself. Sadly but true.
