install LAKKA on tbs2910

Postby Hekser » Tue Nov 11, 2014 7:53 pm

Hi. It is my first experience with arm and embeded systems. Is it possible to install this (https://github.com/lakkatv/Lakka) ? LAKKA is a fork of OpenElec, and contains emulators for retro consoles. A was trying to use these images http://www.lakka.tv/get/linux/ and OpenElec from MatrixTV, combined them and install using mgftool. Nothing works for me =(

Hi Hekser,
i made a SDcard-Image from this LAKKA, you can boot it from sdcard if you have installed Openelec with new bootloader in your TBS2910 to test LAKKA.
Otherwise you have to set the boot switches to boot from sd.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/kv5b2nmze9qjr ... d.img?dl=0
write to a sdcard with at least 2 Gigabyte in Linux:
sudo dd if=lakka-sd.img of=/dev/sdX X is your sd. This works, the sd is booting, the Startmenu of lakka works. I have no roms to test if games are working. The first boot takes really looooong, because the sd is resized. Read much on their website for keyboard commands, it's difficult to navigate. On start there is only a black screen, you must press F1 to enter the Menu.

or use Win32diskimager in Windows to create the SD. (not tested)

Thank you. Is it possible to update my current OpenElec system(this method http://wiki.openelec.tv/index.php?title ... g_OpenELEC ), using KERNEL and SYSTEM files from this image?

I'm not sure what you mean, you want to update your OpenElec to a newer version ?

, what image do you mean ?

The Lakka image i made can only run from sdcard to test lakka. Lakka has nothing from Openelec, only the base system, there is no XBMC in it.
