6903X Problem Tuning

Re: 6903X Problem Tuning

I have now tried the deeptho blindscan version of the drivers - https://github.com/deeptho/linux_media

This seems to fix the problem of not being able to lock DVB-S2 after locking DVB-S2 MIS/PLS -

Code: Select All Code
tsp -v -I dvb -a 0 --delivery-system DVB-S2 --frequency 11013000000 --symbol-rate 35300000 --polarity V --modulation 8-PSK --isi 3 --pls-code 16416 -O drop
* dvb: using /dev/dvb/adapter0 (DVB-S, DVB-S2, DSS)
* dvb: tuned to transponder --delivery-system DVB-S2 --frequency 11,013,000,000 --symbol-rate 35,300,000 --fec-inner auto --polarity vertical --modulation 8-PSK --pilots off --roll-off 0.35 --isi 3 --pls-code 16416 --lnb Extended --satellite-number 0
* dvb: locked: yes, strength: -33.334 dB, SNR: 9.7 dB
* dvb: actual tuning options: --delivery-system DVB-S2 --frequency 11,013,000,000 --symbol-rate 35,293,042 --fec-inner 2/3 --polarity vertical --modulation 8-PSK --pilots on --roll-off 0.20 --isi 3 --pls-code 16416 --lnb Extended --satellite-number 0 --spectral-inversion on
* dvb: initial input bitrate is 68,315,269 b/s
tsp -v -I dvb -a 0 --delivery-system DVB-S2 --frequency 11461000000 --symbol-rate 5780000 --polarity H -O drop
* dvb: using /dev/dvb/adapter0 (DVB-S, DVB-S2, DSS)
* dvb: tuned to transponder --delivery-system DVB-S2 --frequency 11,461,000,000 --symbol-rate 5,780,000 --fec-inner auto --polarity horizontal --modulation QPSK --pilots off --roll-off 0.35 --lnb Extended --satellite-number 0
* dvb: locked: yes, strength: -38.736 dB, SNR: 13.8 dB
* dvb: actual tuning options: --delivery-system DVB-S2 --frequency 11,461,000,000 --symbol-rate 5,779,803 --fec-inner 3/4 --polarity horizontal --modulation QPSK --pilots off --roll-off 0.20 --isi 255 --pls-code 1 --lnb Extended --satellite-number 0 --spectral-inversion on
* dvb: initial input bitrate is 8,597,301 b/s

However there are still problems with the MIS/PLS signal itself, I'm still getting missing/corrupt TS packets for the Rai multiplexes on 5°W (e.g. 11013 V 35300 ROOT+16416 MIS 3 as above). The SNR level of 9.7dB should be more than enough for perfect lock of DVB-S2 8PSK 2/3 which only requires 6.6dB. These also worked perfectly on the TBS6905.

I'm still wondering if the hardware itself in my device might be faulty? :(

Do you seem missing the pls code parameters?
--multistream-id-pls-mode ROOT--multistream-id-pls-code 16416 --multistream-id-is-id 3

It works but there is still some error.

Locks and scans only one frequency (stream) at a time. There is an error at other frequencies tuning failed.

maybe absent isi 3 on 11013 V ?

just test it on 9E multistreams:

No, stream 3 is available. It always tunes only the first stream. With the TBS 5927 card, it is not a problem to tune in all streams.

I found out that when combining DVB-S2 and DVB-S2 MIS/PLS the signal locks and station scanning also works (DVB-S2, DVB-S2 MIS/PLS, DVB-S2, DVB-S2 MIS/PLS, etc.).

With this combination, it is interesting that the signal is without errors. There are errors in the signal (BER) when scanning the DVB-S2 MIS/PLS separately.
