Freezing issue

Postby gr4z » Tue Aug 02, 2011 3:57 am

Hi
My 6981 is constantly freezing my MCE box when stopping a recording. I assume this is down lack of power for the card? The power adapter shipped with the card has 3 inputs. Are all of these needed? I don't have 3 power connectors available only 1 as the others are all in use!! Why so many?
Thanks

My previous card was fine - it was a Pinnacle. That picked up everything in HD on MCE.
It seems the drivers are not very good for DVB-S2 for the UK. Everytime I playback a recording or TV from a HD feed and press STOP my MCE box hangs.

I still am getting random freezing problems. My PSU is rated at 430W is this enough?

If not I will be sending my card back to Amazon for a refund as I am not prepared to upgrade other components just to get a video card working. My previous Pinnacle worked fine but only does DVB-S not S2.

Dvbdream is not freeware. Can you suggest another free program to test the card with?

*EDIT* I have now rebuilt my MCE box from scratch. Using a DVB-S2 feed I can watch the channel but after about 20 mins if I press STOP the system hangs. Every time.

This is a hardware or software issue with your card as this has never happened before with all my previous DVB-T and DVB-S cards.
