szap-s2 works, scan-s2 does not [SOLVED]

hi Euge,

please, there is no need to hurry. i guess you can at least use the hard drive from the old Windows computer you found to attach it to your current computer with PCI-Express slots and test in Windows. i'm really suspecting it's as simple as hardware fault that makes data transfer unstable and we will just need to replace the board, but it's good to confirm it first, because otherwise it's waste of time since you need to wait at least 2 weeks - one week we to receive back you current board and one week you to get the new replacement board.

regards,
cody

Hi cody,

Thanks for the suggestion, I've just checked the PC in the garage and it hasn't got a PCI-E slot so I'll need to swap the hard drive across to try out the card in Windows sometime this weekend. I'll let you know how I get on. Enjoy your conference.

Hi cody,

I managed to get an additional HD installed in my mediacentre and installed a fresh copy of Windows XP SP1. Once booted up I installed the tbs6981 drivers from the installation CD and also installed DVBDream.

Running DVBDream and selecting an input device caused a BSOD crash of Windows XP - I tried this several times and the same result.

I wiped the HD and made a fresh install of Windows 7. Again, I booted up and installed the tbs6981 drivers and DVBDream. This time the software runs okay but no luck with scanning. See attached screens:

Does this look like a hardware issue with the card? Are there some other settings I need to try under Windows 7 to confirm a hardware problem?

Euge

Hi cody,

Hope the conference went well. Any ideas on my last post? I'm presuming now that I probably have a hardware problem?

Hi,

I'm afraid not - I've had no further luck with this and am hoping for a response (to my post with the screenshots) from cody at some point.

Did a new install of debian squeeze and compiled the drivers. Scanning is working and giving result.
