Problem with EIT in MythTV (Ubuntu Natty)

Postby mrming » Fri Aug 05, 2011 4:57 pm

Got my TBS6981 installed and can watch TV channels fine via mplayer. I've set the card up in MythTV - following this guide http://parker1.co.uk/mythtv_freesat.php

I can watch Live TV in MythTV frontend but can't see any EPG data.

If I do a full scan of all transponders I get some EPG data, but only little patches here and there.

Does anyone have any experience with getting a full EPG working?

Any suggestions much appreciated - I've been using MythTV for 6 years now and it's never been straightforward!

The EPG data is transmited with the transport stream, but maybe it's not set.
I'm from Argentina, and from here, all "free to air" signals had not EPG data (Hispasat 30°W, Intelsat805 55.5°W, AMC6 72°W). And signals with suscription service had EPG data (89°W).

Okay I have this sorted now.

What happened was I previously followed an out of date guide which resulted in my channels db being filled with junk.

I deleted all channels, started again with a full scan on all transponders, and now I have EPG data!

Well, it's perfect now! A little strange... But if it ok... don't touch! ;)
Best regards.
