This may or may not apply to you........

I set up a new system for the recording of sat tv, and (without thinking) I happened to plug the
5980 into a USB v3 port. ( the blue ones. systems that have both, the red is usually v2 and the blue ones are v3 as a rule)

The result was horrific..... Random behaviour, e.g. can scan the sat, but not play back video, fails to find transponders
In other words, it is hell on earth with equipment that worked just fine on the same release (opensuse 12.2) moments ago.....

After a lot of searching, tweaking, configuring and whatever else possible, simply connecting the receiver to USB 2 port
solved all the problems.

This is not to do with the TBS driver. T :!: his is to do with USB 3 not being very compatible with USB 2. I noticed the same
issues with audio mixing deck and usb soundcards..... but unfortunately, I had forgotten about them......
