Dear All,
I have just upgraded by HTPC to Ubuntu 12.04 (kernel 3.2.0). After the upgrade, I downloaded version 120617 of the TBS driver and followed the instructions (copy the firmware to /lib/firmware, make, make install as in the README file). However, it seems that my 6280 is not recognised: after a reboot, there is nothing mentioned about the card in dmesg, and the kernel module is not loaded (ie cx23885). If I load the cx23885 module by hand, then dmesg indicates that it is loaded, but again no mention of the card (and my HTPC software doesn't work).
The card is present on the pci bus: > lspci -v
02:00.0 Multimedia controller: Philips Semiconductors SAA7160 (rev 03)
Subsystem: Device 6280:0011
Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 17
Memory at f9f00000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=1M]
Capabilities: <access denied>
I reverted to my previous version of the driver software, 120412, which works fine. Is this a bug, or am I missing something? I am very happy to provide more debug information if requested.
Regards,
Chris
