Agreed.
I loaded an experimental E2 image that has W_Scan and it cannot scan the TBS devises correctly. Would expect similar results using blindscan-s2.

I also added an extra patch to enable blindscan in stv090x, blindscan-s2 is much faster, but again not good results.

With above patch on kernel and blindscan parameter enabled, the blindscan-s2 is fast, really fast (11m 30.90s vs 0m 40.72s), but results are not good.

Maybe the TBS5980 doesn't support blindscan?

I think what we really need is something that was designed for the TBS products.This is probably the only way to get the Excellent TBS hardware blindscan. What about scan-s2 and szaps2? These items are located in the TBS linux driver folder. I do not have the skill needed to install these items in an E2 image. Do you think these would work better in E2 than blindscan S2?

stv090x have good blindscan support. what patches for BS ?

I saw that TBS5980 is supported by v4l-updatelee and listed as blindscan capable.

Although there are huge changes in stv090x.c comparing with kernel 4.5

Currently I am using patches from patchwork for TBS + mis/pls +dB + ts sync in stv090x and the following patch to enable algo BS on demand (v4l-updatelee has always on the algo BS?).

Is this the correct way? And blindscan-s2 works nice with TBS or there is another command line tool available?

Now, here's a new HQ video showcasing the usage of TBS5925 on openPLI/SatDreamGr image on kernel 4.3!

Everything runs smoothly up to kernel 4.3, however the usage becomes very problematic on kernel 4.5. Is there something that changes which causes problems?

Anyway, I see Crazycat's driver sets a maximum SNR of 20db, but on my PC I see that the card can support higher. I have transponders on 0.8W that go above 22db. Should a change in the patchcode allow SNRs more than 20db or is it some other limitation involved?
