@crazycat,
you are right and I found the reason for all my trouble with the TBS6205 with DVB-C and QAM256!
My TBS6205 isn't broken and the tbs-driver works good.Since 2 days I haven't any errors or issues with my TBS6205 under DVB-C (QAM256) and all things work perfect!
What have I done, respectively what was the reason for all my trouble:You know, in the past I used only DVB-T/T2 with my TBS6205 without any issues. At this time I detected that the ICs for tuner (Si2157) and also the demodulator IC (Si2168) becomes in operation very, very hot (over 80°C).
In my old stuff I found a small heatsink (50x25x10mm) for cooling ICs and I attached this temporary with a small cable strap over all the 4 tuners and also over the 4 demodulators. This works good and I hoped that this will help to decrease the high temperature. After that my TBS6205 worked without any issues or errors over some months with DVB-T/T2!
For a few weeks I switched from DVB-T2 to DVB-C, because I could only get 17 channels over DVB-T2 at my flat. And with DVB-C I get some issues and problems with my TBS6205 and only with channels/transponders with QAM256 (see all my last posts from the last week).
One of your last answers to my many questions about your opinion to my issues:
crazycat Wrote:i think this cross-interference btw tuners or demods ...
get me the idea to remove the temporary mounted heatsink, because the heatsink can influence or transmit RF signals, like an antenna.
And so I removed the temporary mounted heatsink and at this moment I haven't any issues or errors with my TBS6205 with DVB-C and QAM6205.
Now I can get all DVB-C channels with and without QAM256 without any issues or errors!
I can switch between all the 4 tuners, I can use this over a long time without any errors. All things, the TBS6205 card and also the TBS driver works perfect!
The reason for my issues was solely the temporary mounted heatsink over the 4 tuner and 4 demodulator ICs!And it's very, very crazy that this heatsink has only an influence by receiving a DVB-C channel with QAM256. All other signals like DVB-C with QAM64 or DVB-T/T2 works perfect with and without the mounted heatsink!
Now I'm happy that my TBS card works perfect and I can use this card without any problems.
@crazycat, Thanks for your help and time. Paul
