Quattro LNB mode on a regular LNB

Hi,

I would like to be able to use this nice card only to get 8 tuners on the V/H freqs of 19.2.
I already have a twin-LNB, which is obviously not Quattro.

Is it possible to connect only the V/H input in mode Quattro (mode 0) directly to the LNB, so that I can get 8 transponders on V/H ?
Will the card send the right commands to set the LNB in V/H mode ?

EDIT: additionally, does it support unicable II or is it only unicable I ? Looks like it has to be II to have >4 tuners

Hello,

if you set the TBS6909 to Quattro LNB mode it will send the correct signals to switch to V/H and high/low band.
You've to connect your twin LNB to the correct inputs and it should work.
Remember that you only can receive V/L or V/H or H/L or H/H

I think that I will use a splitter and normal mode.
In tvheadend, I will set one master and slaves, it should work!

Splitter will NOT work since the card send the switching voltage for H/V and 22kHz signal for H/L band on it's outputs.
You've to connect the LNB to the right inputs and can then use all eight tuners for the connected inputs.
If you use splitter and tune to the wrong polarisation something bad might happen

I don't get it, if I plug only one cable (on the right connector ?), I will be able to use all 8 tuners with the same Pola/Freq?
If so what mode is it ?

Master Tuner : Select the master tuner.

The signal from the standard universal LNB can be split using a simple coaxial splitter (no multiswitch) to several outputs. In this case, the position, the polarization and low-high band settings must be equal.

If you set other tuner as master, then this tuner will act like a slave one and tvheadend will assure that this tuner will not use incompatible parameters (position, polarization, lo-hi).

Ok it's probably what I will do then.
What if there is a diseqc 2.0, does it also send the disqec 2.0 commands in quattro mode ?

And no need to connect to a quattro lnb/multiswitch right ? I can connect 1 input directly to the regular LNB?
(I mean, it will send the 22Khz and voltage to switch to High/V) ?

yes, cause you can also connect a quad or single LNB which needs the signals.
