Dear Forum,
I´ve spent the last 2 days trying to setup a TBS5520SE USB Tuner Box on a Linux System without success.
To test if a hardware damage might be the reason I´ve installed the Box on a Win10 System... it took me less than 10 Minutes to receive proper DVB-C TV Signal on the machine!
So I assume, my limited understanding of Hardware / Driver implementation in Linux is the reason for failure.
Here´s what I´ve tried so far:
I tried to follow these instructions:
1: https://www.tbsiptv.com/download/tbs552 ... _guide.pdf
2: https://github.com/tbsdtv/linux_media/wiki
3: viewtopic.php?f=194&t=25066
I tried these Instructions on:
1: Debian 10.4.0 Full Install with Gnome (on a HP Z2 G3 /I7 / 16GB RAM / Nvidia Q P600)
2: Ubuntu 18.04.4 Desktop_amd64 (on a HP Z2 G3 /I7 / 16GB RAM / Nvidia Q P600)
3: Ubuntu 18.04.4 Server (on a HP Z2 G3 /I7 / 16GB RAM / Nvidia Q P600)
4: Ubuntu 20.04 Desktop (on a HP Z2 G3 /I7 / 16GB RAM / Nvidia Q P600)
5: Ubuntu 20.04 Server (on a HP Z2 G3 /I7 / 16GB RAM / Nvidia Q P600)
6: Raspbian (on a Raspberry Pi 4 4GB RAM)
Always Clean Full-Installations, no virtualization or anything.
The Machine is recognizing the USB Device by lsusb on the correct USB Port
But after installation of Drivers and copying firmware just nothing happens - no /dev/dvb folder is present, no frontend running, nothing
I recognized, that when executing make -j4 the script warns me, that I don´t have the all Kernel Sources installed, but no fatal error or something happens.
Is there anything i could try to make this device working in (preferably) Debian 10 / Ubuntu 20?
Any helpful advice is highly appreciated!
Many thanks in advance
