TBS5922 Issues (Solved)

TBS5922 Issues (Solved)

Postby pennym » Fri Aug 19, 2011 9:01 am

I received my TBS5922 a few days ago and have 2 problems:-

1) Unable to blind scan Ku satellites when using Ku universal LNB settings (The LNB is a Ku universal LNB). Any results I get are approximately 850 Mhz to low.
example: Actual transponder is 12305 - Blind scan result is 11451 - I have fiddled with the Ku universal settings in Blindscan but cannot find a solution.
Blind scanning is OK when scanning my C-band dish.

2) I get irregular pixellation (anywhere from a couple of seconds apart to a minute apart) on both Ku and C band.
I do not have this problem with my Twinhan PCI card or my dreambox DM800 and I have tested this using different computers different cables and different satellite dishes and still the problem persists.

My computers are running Windows 7 32 bit and I am using your latest programs and drivers.

Any help will be appreciated.

Hi pennym

For your first question, would you mind tell us your Blindscan setting's picture, are you sure that you are input the right value of LNB?

Thanks

850 MHz = 10600 - 9750 MHz. So when you scan high Ku band (11700-12750), the program thought that it is low Ku band (10700-11700).
Wrong LOF value used. Try 10600 MHz instead of 9750 MHz.

I have tried setting the LOF to 10600 but the switch setting of 11700 does not seem to work and prevents scanning Ku high.

Attached are 2 pictures with my results using correct settings and modified LOF settings. The 3rd picture shows what should be there.

The satellite I am testing with is Optus C1/D3 at 156.0E.

I need to make a correction to my previous posts.

The 850 Mhz variation I mentioned only happens when I piggy-back the TBS5922 off the dreambox and have the dreambox control the LNB.

I now think the only problem with blindscan and the TBS5922 has is that it will not scan Ku high with the universal LNB settings.

I have attached my blindscan results for the same satellite (Optus C1/D3) vertical transponders only having the dreambox contol the LNB. Sorry for providing mis-leading comments earlier but I think this maybe the CLUE as to what needs to be fixed in your blindscan program since I would have expected the same results (for vertcal only) no matter which device runs the LNB.

Hi
if you use high Ku band, please choose 22k on.
thanks

That was my problem - works perfectly with the 22k box ticked.

Thank you very much Steven

Might someone be able to give me a quick one liner as to what the 22k is used for.

22k used to change LNB,if 22k off the low LNB will be use,if 22k on the high LNB will be use.
Thanks

Hi
Have you managed to solve your problem yet ?
Cause i have the same problem on some random s2 frequencies.
No problem on s1 frequencies though.
