Gigabyte E350N-USB. Crashing while scanning for channels

Postby ddub » Wed May 23, 2012 3:43 pm

Hi,

Recently built a HTPC and now every time i scan for channels using DVB Dream or WMP it crashes and the machine re-boots.

I've updated the BIOS, this had made no difference.

I only have a 250w PSU, some people have mentioned this might be the problem? It also makes no difference using the power cable attached to the satellite card either.

Any ideas?

Thanks, Dave

Hi ddub.

Your motherboard require 200W minimun (from motherboard manual page 20)
To meet expansion requirements, it is recommended that a power supply that can withstand high power consumption be used (200W or greater). If a power supply is used that does not provide the required power, the result can lead to an unstable or unbootable system.

250W look good, but how is really composed your system? Do you know wich is the real (or theorical) consumption in all your HTPC?
Please verify this, maybe the problem it there.

Best regards
