The latest version of the DVBViewer Recording Service has some workaround, but it introduced even more serious problems, at least for me. The RS now frequently crashes completely when the CI is involved. I've personally lost hope that there will be a solution, since the people at DVBViewer seem very reluctant to even acknowledge the problem, as it seems to them as something that is more a TBS problem. Altough the support by TBS is way more responsive and very friendly, they didn't seem to contribute much to help the problem.

In the end, i must say, the Hardware triumphed over the software, so i'm using MediaPortal now (which works flawlessly with the TBS 9628 btw). But i am quite dissapointed by the DVBViewer developers and it's indeed sad, since it would have made the dream-team (DVBViewer + TBS).

I can give my account on what the problem is. I assume it is the same with atef: since the workaround (frequently unloading/reloading the tbs dll) in different circumstances this "reset" fails and causes the DVBViewer recording service to crash. A simple restart of the service fails, only a restart of the computer brings it back.

The different circumstances are difficult to pin exactly. But one i can reproduce reliably: When the RS is streaming a non encrypted channel to a client, and scheduled recording of an encrypted channel starts, the client receives the information that the RS needs to switch channels, but then the RS crashes completely.

I've given this information to the DVBViewer people, but there has not been any response. But i don't think it will help if you (steven) write them again.

But what would help is if atef writes in their forum. By my count there is inlcuding me 3 people having problem with the DVBViewer Recording Service now.
Maybe this motivates them ..

just like what herrbasan said . RS crashes and i must restart my pc to work,
it works fine with non encrypted channels but when i start switching between encrypted channels few times it crashes the recording service and dvbV hangs or becomes very heavy and slow responsiveness.

and btw , i have another TBS card installed .tbs 6981. i used the 6928 alone same problem( but i didnt disable or remove 6928)
