TBS6922SE not recognised in Dell Optiplex 3020

Postby nsewell » Sat Apr 02, 2016 4:46 am

I'm currently trying to install a TBS6922SE satellite card in my Dell Optiplex 3020 running Windows 10 Pro.

The problem is that the card doesn't appear to be being seen by Windows. I believe it should show up under "Sound, video and game controller" in device manager, however I only have "Intel(R) Display Audio" & "Realtek High Definition Audio" listed.

Within the UEFI BIOS under System Information > PCI Information, Slot 1 is shown as "{Empty}" and Slot 2 is shown as "Unknown".

I'm using the latest software from: http://www.tbsdtv.com/download/

Anybody any ideas?

Hi there, thanks for the reply.

I've checked and ensured the system is running the latest BIOS version A10 which was released 05/11/2015. I've also tried cleaning the gold contacts and putting the card in slot 1, which has had no effect.

So are you suggesting that the incompatibility is probably due to a bug within the Optiplex 3020 BIOS?

Is my next step to try and contact Dell Support or is there anything else I could try?

Unfortunately I don't have a different machine to try and prove that the PCI-E card works.

You have to verify if your hardware is compatible with 1.0 pci

It is not a bug, it's a feature. I'm not sure of the latter.
You can contact TBS in http://www.tbsdtv.com/contact-us.html

You can ask if your hardware is compatible with 1.0 pci

Good luck!
